Yes! Lots of exercises can be done without stepping foot inside the gym.
Weight bearing exercises are critical as are keeping active with daily chores. Instead of taking the car to the car wash at the weekend, get a bucket out and give it a go yourself! You will be surprised how big a workout it is and will feel your arms the next day for sure!
