Could wearing a bra at night stop a crepey décolletage as you get older

When did you last wear a sleep bra?  Until recently, the last time I wore one was when the children were born.  I must admit that keeping my modest 32D breasts in check during the night has never been a problem.  So, when I was sent the Proskins Sleep Bra to review I was sceptical.  Would a sleep bra actually be comfortable to sleep in, would it be too hot, and could it really prevent lines and wrinkles forming on my chest.

Why choose Proskins

I currently have 3 pairs of Proskins Slim leggings which are my go to item of clothing when I’m at home.  They help to smooth and soften skin, tackle cellulite and the fabric is impregnated with similar ingredients to skincare.  I have never managed to wear my Proskins Slim leggings consistently for 28 days, so I don’t know whether they would make my legs slimmer but, they definitely make them look better while wearing them.  They are also by far the most comfortable item of clothing in my wardrobe.

What fabric is the Proskins Sleep Bra made of?

The Sleep Bra works on the same principle as the leggings.  Using the latest fabric technology, the Sleep Bra is moisture wicking, so you never get too hot or too cold, has a (light) compression fit, which sits close to the skin to help shape and tone, and is antibacterial.  Ingredients such as caffeine, Retinol, vitamin E and aloe vera are impregnated into the yarn to help to keep the skin smooth, soft and line free.  These ingredients are guaranteed to stay within the yarn for up to 100 washes.  I have no idea how they do that but it’s reassuring.

What is it like wearing the Proskins Sleep Bra?

The Sleep Bra looks very much like an unstructured sports bra.  It has a flat band to support under the breasts, wide shoulder straps that won’t move out of place when you’re in bed and is enclosed at the back.  There are minimal seams.  I went for size small which fitted me perfectly and immediately felt comfortable as soon as I put it on.  The bra slips on easily over your head and doesn’t have any fastenings that might dig into you.  The Sleep Bra gives enough support that I put it on after a shower in the evening and happily sit downstairs without the fear of the kids visiting and seeing the affect gravity has had on their mother’s boobs.  In bed, the Sleep Bra doesn’t make you feel hot, this surprised me as I was sure I might overheat.

What are the effects of wearing a Proskins Sleep Bra?

As well as feeling cosy in the winter and comfortable in the summer, for me, wearing the Sleep Bra is the same as sleeping on a silk pillowcase.  I’ve done this for many years, it keeps your hair from tangling and your skin from creasing.  The Sleep Bra does the same.  Although I don’t have large boobs, which if I did I think the Sleep Bra would be even more effective, my décolletage does look smoother and less lined when I wear it.  You would probably need to wear the Sleep Bra for several years to really know the long-term benefits.

Who should buy a Proskins Sleep Bra?

If you have large and heavy breasts then the Sleep Bra would be perfect for you.  It gives good support, yet is very comfortable.  If you are looking for ways to improve or protect your décolletage this is a great way of getting skincare ingredients into the skin during the night while preventing lines and wrinkles.

The Proskins Sleep Bra is £34.95 and available from the Proskins website
