It’s not surprising that when the Sanctuary Spa asked women about their lifestyle, almost fifty percent of them said that they felt moderately or extremely stressed and forty percent felt about to burn out.

If like me, you started your career in the 70/80s when we were told then we could have it all, a great job, family, and a happy relationship.  But was it true, could we really sustain all of those roles and still have time for ourselves?

Now we have even more pressure, alongside the job, family, and relationship, the media expects us to be the perfect size and shape and look younger than our years, we also have a constant ‘to do list’ which we never complete.  In many ways it’s never been a better time to be an older woman but, on the other hand we have never had so many responsibilities.  Partners, parents, children and grandchildren to look after as well as the home, maintain a job competing with younger women, and still have time to exercise and live a healthy lifestyle.  Is it any wonder so many of us feel on the point of exhaustion?

Sanctuary Spa  are on a mission to get us to Relax, Breathe and #LetGo to get us to step back and think about what is really important in our lives.  For once a beauty brand has brought it to our attention that there is more to life than looking good.  Feeling good is so much more important and taking time to appreciate all we have, rather than constantly trying to capture the moment for the future instead of enjoying it in the present.

It’s hard not to look back in your fifties and wonder how life would have been if we had done things differently.  No doubt we will do the same in our seventies, so it’s time to cherish the moments, save a little time for ourselves and take time to relax and unwind.

I loved watching this video as it made me stop and think!  Will you #LetGo?
