Can a haircut make my thinning hair look thicker?

Yes it can, but it depends on the length of the hair and the severity of the thinning. Most women find their hair changes texture and can start to thin a little due to hormonal changes as they get older. It’s important to adapt the way you care for your hair to respond accordingly. Shorter cuts help the strength of the hair but make sure you have a consultation to work out the best shape for you – if you don’t get it right, it can be ageing.

Excessive thinning can be a sign that something is lacking in your diet, stress or perhaps a thyroid problem. If you think your hair is thinning excessively, consider going to see a trichologist, who may be able to help with hair loss treatment.
