Hilary and Camille Johnson Founders of Pink Ribbon Lingerie
Personal experience lead mother and daughter team Hilary and Camille Johnson to launch their specialist clothing company Pink Ribbon Lingerie. Following her breast cancer surgery, Hilary Johnson discovered that the lingerie options for someone who has had a mastectomy quite limited. Hilary said ‘Camille was appalled at the trouble I had finding pretty colourful bras and she wanted to rectify the situation. She was only 16 years old when I had the mastectomy, but she kept the problem at the back of her mind until she was able to come up with the answer. Eventually we started up the business in 2010. Camille has sourced products from around the world via the internet and lingerie exhibitions to help me and other women find lingerie and swimwear to make us feel beautiful. Whenever I tell friends or other breast cancer sufferers they always say how wonderful it is that my daughter wanted to help me and other women in my position.’
Six years ago, Pink Ribbon Lingerie launched with a small range of mastectomy lingerie and three swimsuits. They have since added sportswear, sleepwear and accessories. Their lingerie range has tripled and swimwear now includes bikinis and tankinis, in fact they now sell over seventy swimwear options.
Pink Ribbon Lingerie aim to help women feel beautiful, to feel comfortable in lingerie that is luxurious, sexy and functional. All their underwear, sleepwear, swimwear and sportswear come with fitted pockets to hold prosthesis’s in place securely and discreetly.
Pink Ribbon Lingerie has a group of post mastectomy product testers who try and test the new collections before the company decide to stock them. Being a small family business means they can help women find the right product without being profit driven, they try hard to keep costs and prices as low as possible.
Hilary and Camille Johnson have brought together the best range of lingerie to help women feel attractive and comfortable after breast surgery. They offer lingerie in sizes from 30-44 A-G and swimwear from 30-48 A-E. Sleepwear and sportswear are available in sizes 8-18 and they stock clothing from 10 different brands.
