We review the Italian skincare range created by Dr Raffaella Gregoris

If you have ever been bewildered by the vast list of ingredients in your skincare products, and wondered if all of them are absolutely necessary, you are not alone.  For the 10 years that Dr Raffaella Gregoris formulated products for leading skincare companies she became ever more disillusioned by the inclusion of unnecessary and potentially harmful ingredients in skincare.

Rather than continue to create products against her principles, Raffaella created her own unique skincare range with total transparency and honesty.  BAKEL, which stands for Beauty and Key Elements, launched in Italy 15 years ago and offers a selection of innovative products which only include the finest 100% natural active raw quality ingredients.  All ingredients have a specific purpose and each carefully crafted product only contains necessary ingredients that will be of benefit to your skin.

Zero Useless Substances!

You will never find preservatives, colorants, petroleum derivatives, surfactants, silicones, alcohol, PEG, PPG or heavy metals in any BAKEL product.  What you will find is often a very small selection of excellent quality ingredients that will actively change the appearance of your skin.  The products are delivered in airless pump packaging to avoid preservatives and remarkably most of the range can be used all over the face and eye area.

Due to the nature of the formulations, a small amount of BAKEL skincare quickly absorbs into the skin, leaving even the most sensitive skin types feeling well-nourished and hydrated while the active ingredients go about improving the appearance and texture of the skin.

The range of BAKEL products include effective skincare, including serums, moisturisers and eye creams, bodycare, suncare and targeted products like Power Peel and THIO-C Revitalising Glowing Serum, there’s even a natural deodorant.

BAKEL not only offer 100% transparency, they are also constantly reinvesting in clinical testing to ensure that their products meet the highest standards.  As well as nickel and heavy metal testing, the products are Kosher, gluten free, Vegan and animal friendly; you will never find an animal derived ingredient in a BAKEL product nor will one ever be tested on an animal.  This makes BAKEL 100% certified, so you can rely on their products to be ethical as well as effective.

Dr Raffaella’s advice: choose your serum by your main concern and use no more than two serums at any time

Editor’s note:
Having used BAKEL products for a number of months I can confidently say that these products do have a positive effect on skin.  They are expensive to purchase but economical to use and act differently to products you may have used in the past.  Due to the formulations they are quickly absorbed by the skin which may feel drier to touch than after using products which sit on the skin’s surface.  Within a short space of time skin readjusts and feels nourished and moisturised without any residue.  You can use BAKEL products knowing that you have paid for only the finest ingredients.
